The Computing Laboratory - Oxford University's Computer Science department - is at the heart of computing and related interdisciplinary activity at Oxford. It is a centre for research in computer science and software engineering, with research strengths crossing conventional disciplinary boundaries into areas such as computational biology, linguistics, medicine, and quantum physics. It is also a place where students can obtain an outstanding education in computer science through a variety of undergraduate and graduate programmes, including a part-time, professional programme in software engineering.

On this site, you will find the latest news of events and vacancies, along with detailed information on our research and teaching programmes, and on the activities of those who work in the Laboratory. There are specific resources for visitors, industrial collaborators, and those interested in the results of our research, including downloadable versions of books, papers, and software.
