I joined the Oxford University Computing Laboratory just before the start of Trinity Term 2007
as PA to the Head of the Numerical Analysis Group, and as the Numerical Analysis Group Secretary.
This is my first position in Oxford and in University Administration.
Brief Job description
I am in my office between 9am and 5pm on weekdays to help students and academics with any kind of administrative request.
Here is a list of some of my other tasks:
Brief Job History
I've spent a couple of years as a student at Stuttgart
University, including a gap year where I worked as a trail leader for
Trans Wales Trails.
Eventually I received a degree
in Geodesy.
During the next 4 years, I worked as a research assistant at TU Berlin
and University of Stuttgart.
As I was more interested in teaching and programming than in pushing a research
career, I think only one publication with my name on it exists.
While in Stuttgart I also worked freelance doing civil engineering calculations for one of Germany's major car manufacturers,
and part-time in Stuttgart's largest bookshop.
From 1998 to March 2007 I worked for HHK Datentechnik,
a software company in Braunschweig, Germany. I started in customer support for
GEOgraf (a Geodetic CAD program)
and later became a member of the GEOgraFIS
team, working with a Geografical Information System.
This links back to my studies, as that was my special subject at university.
