Oxford University Computing Laboratory (OUCL) has received an EPSRC award to fund a D.Phil studentship for research into actuated sensor networks for monitoring industrial processes in enclosed aqueous environments.
This research is co-directed by Dr Niki Trigoni at the Oxford University Computing Laboratory, in collaboration with Dr Peter N. Green, Dr Trevor York and Mr Peter R. Green at the University of Manchester. The student will collaborate with a postdoctoral research assistant in OUCL in the AASN4IP project to improve the existing monitoring technology by developing distributed algorithms for mapping and exploration of enclosed and cluttered underwater environments, hereafter called ponds.
The studentship is fully funded by EPSRC for three and a half years at home/eu level and will include a stipend of £12,940.

for doing a doctorate at Oxford. Candidates must have (or be expecting to receive) a good degree in computer science or a closely-related subject. In addition good programming skills and knowledge of / experience in wireless networks are desirable.
