View of central Oxford
The
Radcliffe Camera
is in the centre, the spire of St. Mary's
(the University Church) is to the left,
All Souls College is to
the right, and the Old and New
Bodleian Library buildings are behind.
To the left are the Parks and Science Area. In the middle the
two main roads into Oxford from the north, Banbury Road (left) and
Woodstock Road (right) join to form the broad thoroughfare of
St. Giles which leads into the main shopping street,
Cornmarket, in central Oxford. Most of the older
colleges can be seen in the distance to the left. Beyond are
Christ Church Meadow and the
River Thames (known locally as the
Isis), where
rowing
takes place.
